The students at Sauquoit Valley Elementary school are voracious readers! So far this year, they have checked out 15,500 books from our library.

Many of the classics that parents and grandparents grew up on are getting a fresh look. For example, The Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew series have come out in a graphic novel format. For those not familiar, a graphic novel is a book that looks similar to a comic. These books have a shelf life of only minutes!  This means once they are put back on the shelf, another child checks it out immediately.

The Diary of a Wimpy Kid movie has generated a lot of requests for this series of books in our library. We own 12 copies (3 each of the four titles in the series) and they are never on the shelf. Children have learned the vaulable skill of how to reserve a book with the hopes of getting their hands on this year's hottest title before the school year runs out.
