Blabberize

Blabberize allows you to upload a photo and make the mouth move while you record an audio track.  You can also have students comment on another's blabber.  Here is a quick sample I made:

Glogster

Glogster is a great site where your students can make interactive posters. With just a click of the mouse on a menu students can enter text, links, images, music, videos, and more. Glogster gives a whole new twist to those paper posters!

I was introduced to this program recently at a conference where a primary student from a local school taught me how to "glog" while showing me the glog she made about penguins. It really is the perfect tool to use for primary grades all the way up through high school.

At this site you can see the latest glogs that have been published:

There is a great mini-tutorial to get you started here:

And tutorials for you visual learners are available if you scroll down to the resources section of the glogster homepage:

Online Comic Creators
This site provides 31 different sites that can be used to create online comics. Most also have a little bubble describing what the comic creator is best for.
Prezi

This online presentation software allows your entire presentation to be displayed on one screen, but you choose the order in which you want the items to be zoomed in on.

To get an idea of what a Prezi is, view some of the sample presentations here

Voice Thread
This site allows you to upload an image or movie, and other users can then comment on it. Accounts are free, but you must have a valid email address to create one. Student accounts are available but must be purchased. One way around it is to create different "identities" under your single educator account. By doing this you'd have to allow everyone to use the same login and trust that they're going to put their work under their own identity. I did that in the sample below:

Once logged in, the MyVoice tab has some video tutorials on how to use the program. You can also get help by clicking on "Support".
Wordle

Wordle is a site for generating "word clouds" from text that you provide. The more a word appears in the text, the bigger it is in the cloud.

Jonathan Wylie gives 10 great way to use Wordle at: http://www.brighthub.com/education/k-12/articles/58905.aspx

Here is a sample Wordle I created by pasting in the words of our National Anthem. Wordle: National Anthem
