There are a few procedures that we need to tighten up here at the high school in order to help our school become a safe learning environment. I ask that we implement the following procedural changes below to assist in our mission of providing a safe and secure community of learners:
• Please refrain from opening doors to visitors. In order to foster a safe
environment for our learning community, I ask that all visitors are buzzed in by appropriate school personnel.

•Passes will be required to leave classes/study halls and the cafeteria. Students must sign out of class (with staff member permission) utilizing a sign out sheet in each classroom.

•Starting on Monday December, 5- December 23, 2011 we will be implementing a no Back-pack/book bag policy on a trial basis.

Far too often across the country, we read of some catastrophic school event that may have been prevented by utilizing some common sense safety procedures. I hope that you will join with me in helping Sauquoit Valley High School to become a beacon of school safety.
