Curriculum

For this school year (2025-2026), each of our three schools has established a goal for developing curriculum documents that will support future collaboration to ensure our curricula are aligned to the New York State standards, aligned across all grade levels from kindergarten through twelfth grade, and appropriately prioritizing high-leverage skills and concepts.
This work is part of a multi-year plan for curriculum development, collaborative review, and modification that will result in a strengthened academic program for our students.

Intervention
Click here to view the 2025-2026 SVCSD Intervention Manual. Feedback and questions related to this manual may be sent to Brian Read, Director of Instructional Services, at (315) 839-6332 or bread@svcsd.org.
The purpose of the Intervention Manual is to clearly communicate the systematic approach we take in supporting each of our students to be successful in school.
Each school in our district has a multi-tiered system of supports and interventions that seeks to address the needs of each of our students.
A primary component of this system is high-quality, researched-based instruction in our general education classrooms. Students who are need of additional supports and/or interventions, as evidenced by screening or other assessment indicators, are provided with targeted interventions that match their unique needs. One of our academic interventions is Academic Intervention Services (AIS) which is provided to students who demonstrate a need for additional academic support as evidenced by state and/or local assessment data. Parents are kept abreast of the interventions that their child is receiving. Our Teacher Support Team (TST) and Student Resource Team (SRT) provide critical analysis and input on the intervention decision-making process.
We encourage any parent who is concerned about their child's progress to not hesitate to contact the child's teacher(s).
Professional Development
Professional growth is a top priority in the Sauquoit Valley Central School District.
We believe that we owe it to our students, parents, and community members to continuously engage in professional development opportunities so that we remain responsive to the unique needs of our students and offer them the best scholastic program we possibly can.
The following diagram outlines our process for collaboratively developing and tracking progress made toward goals in each of our schools on an annual basis.
