2020-21 SVHS INFORMATION
STUDENTS: CLICK HERE AND COMPLETE THIS FORM ON EACH OF YOUR REMOTE ATTENDANCE DAYS!
[ONLY USED WHEN OUR SCHOOL IS IN THE HYBRID MODEL; WHEN OUR SCHOOL IS FULLY REMOTE, ATTENDANCE WILL BE TAKEN EACH PERIOD VIA GOOGLE MEET]
As of Monday, October 26, we will be making the following changes to provide for more consistency with students’ remote learning experience:
Remote assignments will be organized in the Google Classroom Classwork section by week. Parents and students will be able to see what remote assignments students are expected to work on each week, for each course, by selecting Coursework and finding the assignments listed under the current week (Example: Week of Monday, Oct. 26 – Friday, Oct. 30).
Google Classroom Streams will only show announcements from teachers. Posts regarding new assignments, new questions, etc. will no longer appear as they will be consistently organized in the Classwork section. This will appropriately highlight teacher announcements in the Stream.
We will be recommending to students that they turn off most of the automatic email notifications they receive from Google Classroom, and we will be showing them how to do this. Students are currently receiving dozens of emails each day, most of which are automatic notifications. Given the above changes, we feel these email notifications are no longer necessary, and we would like to declutter students’ email inboxes so students can clearly see messages that were sent personally to them.

WHEN OUR ENTIRE SCHOOL IS IN THE FULLY REMOTE MODEL, PLEASE REMEMBER:
Students will follow their schedule by logging in from home each period, each day (Monday through Friday). Teachers will conduct daily classes via Google Meet. Attendance will be taken by teachers each period. Students will be considered present only if they remain engaged in the Google Meet for its duration. Google Meet sessions may or may not last the duration of the assigned period as teachers may provide students with time to work independently on tasks. In addition to engagement during Google Meet sessions, corresponding assignments and tasks will be posted in Google Classroom.
